Overall Opinion:
Overall, Nature’s Bounty Acidophilus Probiotic is just an average product, hence the 2.5 out of 5 rating.
There are some decent qualities to this probiotic, but nothing that swept me off my feet.
What I do like is that that the tablets are very small and easy to swallow.
The tablets are also allergy friendly because they are gluten-free, lactose-free, soy-free, and wheat-free.
The best quality about this probiotic is that it’s extremely inexpensive, $8.99 for 100 tablets!
That’s one of the lowest prices I’ve seen so far.
Now for what I don’t like…
What I don’t like is that these tablets need to be refrigerated after opening, making them less stable or convenient.
The live cells are only guaranteed at the time of manufacture (I like when they can guarantee until the expiration date).
These tablets are NOT safe for kids and there’s no satisfaction guarantee.
While taking these daily supplements, I would’ve liked to see better results.
100 million cells are gentle in my opinion but sometimes too gentle.
A higher cell count may have done the trick in getting faster or better results.
However, for a first time probiotic user, these may be a good starting point.
Overall, these tablets are super easy to take and incredibly affordable but sometimes you get what you pay for and the results may be minimal or nonexistent depending on the severity of your situation.
The Details:
Ingredients/Strain Profile
Nature’s Bounty Acidophilus Probiotic contains 100 million cells in one probiotic strain.
The single probiotic strain used is Lactobacillus acidophilus, which is a naturally occurring bacteria found within the body.
I really like the use of this strain because it’s been extensively researched.
Studies have shown that this strain may help with some vaginal infections, urinary tract infections, lactose intolerance, and helping boost immune response.
Lactobacillus acidophilus has been shown to potentially help with uncomfortable stomach symptoms such as diarrhea, constipation, and bloating.
This strain may also be able to help alleviate stomach ailments such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
Lactobacillus acidophilus may also assist the digestive system in getting back in order after taking a round of antibiotics by repopulating the good bacteria within the body.
Allergy Concerns
Nature’s Bounty Acidophilus Probiotic is very allergy friendly.
These tablets contain NO milk, lactose, soy, gluten, wheat, fish, starch, or sodium.
This probiotic is also free of artificial color, flavor, sweetener, preservatives, and sugar.
The other ingredients include: vegetable cellulose, vegetable stearic acid, silica, and vegetable magnesium stearate.
Price/Value
The price of this product is probably its most alluring quality.
For 100 tablets, it will only cost you $8.99 per bottle.
This works out to be just about 9 cents a day to take.
This is incredibly inexpensive!
It’s actually one of the cheapest probiotics I’ve tried so far.
Side Effects
As far as side effects, I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary while taking these tablets.
This is a plus.
The cell count is only 100 million per tablet, so this may be a good option for those new to taking probiotics.
These are definitely on the gentler side, in my opinion.
Guarantee
Unfortunately, we didn’t see a satisfaction guarantee offered by Nature’s Bounty.
I would’ve really liked to see some sort of guarantee offered for the product.
