Overall Opinion:

I give Ortho Molecular Ortho Biotic 2 out of 5 stars.

Overall, I was really let down with this probiotic, even though it has some good qualities.

I’ll quickly go over the positives to this particular probiotic.

First off, it uses a solid strain profile with beneficial probiotics that have been well researched.

Second, you don’t have to refrigerate the bottle and you just take 1 capsule daily.  (However, the capsule is pretty big and harder to swallow.)

Third, it’s allergy friendly and doesn’t use artificial colors or preservatives.

Last, I didn’t notice any negative side effects.

So now it’s time for the negatives and why I couldn’t rate this probiotic any higher.

I have digestive problems and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), so I was really looking forward to try a probiotic that was coined “professional strength” that I could use for my specific ailment.

I didn’t really notice any improvement with my problems such as gas, bloating, stomach pain, and constipation.

This is a huge disappointment.

Another big problem I have is how expensive this product is.

It’s nearly $50 for a bottle, which is definitely more than average.

And the kicker is that this company doesn’t offer any sort of guarantee.

It’s also weird because you can’t simply go to their website and buy the product.

You have to register and be a licensed health care provider or be in the medical community.

However, you can buy the product online, such as on Amazon.com.

I had higher hopes for this probiotic since it seems to be sold strictly by medical practitioners.

I don’t think the price is worth it and I’d rather spend my money on something that can actually help.

The Details:

Ingredients/Strain Profile

Each capsule of Ortho Biotic contains 20 billion CFU in 6 probiotic strains and an additional 2 billion CFU from Saccharomyces boulardii.

I like that this product includes Bifidobacterium bifidum.

This probiotic strain is suggested to help improve immune and digestive function.

It also may help relieve Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) symptoms, diarrhea, constipation, eczema, and ulcerative colitis.

Studies suggest it may help fight off harmful bacteria and help balance out overall bacteria levels.

Another strain that’s used that I really like is Lactobacillus acidophilus.

Research shows this probiotic strain may alleviate common digestive issues like constipation, diarrhea, gas, and bloating.

It may help relieve traveler’s diarrhea, treat yeast infections, and prevent urinary tract infections (UTIs).

Saccharomyces boulardii is suggested to treat occasional diarrhea and improve immune defense by fighting off harmful bacteria.

Allergy Concerns

Ortho Biotic seems to be very allergy friendly.

It doesn’t list any major allergy concerns.

It’s free of:  wheat, gluten, soy, corn, animal or dairy products, fish, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, and egg.

It’s also free of artificial colors, artificial sweeteners or preservatives.

The other ingredients include:  Natural Vegetable Capsules, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Silicon Dioxide, and Magnesium Stearate.

Price/Value

A bottle of 30 capsules costs a whopping $49.60.

It lasts you one month since you just take 1 daily.

The daily cost works out to $1.65 cents per day.

That’s super expensive!

For that kind of money, I was expecting to see some major improvement.

Unfortunately, I didn’t see much of any help.

That being said, I don’t think it’s a good price for the value.

Side Effects

I was expecting to see some side effects since this is a “professional strength” probiotic.

Surprisingly, I didn’t see any negative side effects such as gas or bloating.

This is a plus.

However, I didn’t really see any improvement in my digestive issues or IBS, either.

Guarantee

Ortho Molecular doesn’t seem to have any sort of money back or satisfaction guarantee.

This is a huge disappointment, especially since this product is nearly $50 a bottle.

I’m not happy about this. :(
