Overall Opinion:
Overall, at 2.5 out of 5 stars, ProbioSlim is an average product.
I really want to rate this probiotic higher because I like the idea of a probiotic and weight loss supplement in one.
However, there are only a few things that I like about it.
I like that on top of the probiotic strain used, it has additional ingredients such as Green Tea Leaf Extract and Kiwi Extract that may help with digestion and weight loss.
I also like that you don’t have to refrigerate this product, making it more convenient.
This product misses the mark for me in other areas, though.
Since this product contains caffeine, you must be careful with how much additional caffeine you consume while taking these.
I got some rather scary side effects of a racing heart and slight chest pain.
I am an avid coffee drinker, so I thought my tolerance to additional caffeine would be fine.
I was wrong! So please be careful while taking these. The directions say to take 1 capsule in the morning with breakfast and 1 capsule in the afternoon with lunch.
The directions also say not to drink alcohol, drive, or operate heavy machinery while taking these capsules.
Pretty intense precautions!
This product is also NOT safe for kids.
It also didn’t list out the CFU count for the probiotic strain and it didn’t list the actual measurements of the other ingredients used. That’s always a red flag when dealing with probiotics.
These capsules also come in a clear bottle, which I don’t like as much because it’s not as protected.
It also says to keep the product away from light, moisture and heat.
This product is also VERY expensive, a total of $74.98 for a 1 month supply.
One last thing is that it uses dyes and added ingredients that I really don’t like and don’t think are necessary.
Overall, I really like the idea of a probiotic and weight loss supplement in one, however this product falls short by being too expensive, potential scary side effects, unnecessary added ingredients and unclear measurements of ingredients used.
The Details:
Ingredients/Strain Profile
ProbioSlim contains a proprietary 544mg blend of 544mg of LactoSpore® Bacillus Coagulans, Super EGCG Green Tea Leaf Extract, Green Tea Leaf Extract, Kiwi Extract, Fig Extract, and Papaya Extract.
The strain Bacillus Coagulans has been researched to show potential relief from gastrointestinal gas, bloating, constipation, and diarrhea.
This specific strain may also help improve vaginal flora and immune response to viral infections.
I also like the use of Green Tea Leaf Extract, because it’s been researched to potentially help with weight loss and weight management while following a reduced-calorie diet plan.
The caffeine included in this supplement may also help curb appetite and help keep you energized.
Allergy Concerns
ProbioSlim doesn’t contain any major allergens, except for gelatin.
Another note is that it’s manufactured by equipment that processes products containing milk, eggs, soybeans, wheat, shellfish, fish oil, tree nuts, and peanut flavor.
The other ingredients used in ProbioSlim are: microcrystalline cellulose, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, FD&C yellow #6, and FD&C green #3.
Price/Value
For a 60 capsule bottle, it costs $69.99, plus $4.99 for shipping, totaling $74.98.
This works out to be $2.49 a day to take this supplement.
This is incredibly expensive!
ProbioSlim is one of the most expensive probiotics I’ve tried so far.
With everything considered, I think there is a better value out there for a daily probiotic/weight loss supplement.
Side Effects
I did get side effects while taking ProbioSlim.
I didn’t have digestive side effects but I did experience some chest pain/racing heart.
This product includes caffeine, so please be aware of this!
I’m a coffee addict, so I thought I would be fine taking these twice a day as directed.
However, I quickly learned that I needed to severely cut back on my caffeine consumption in order to not feel side effects with this product.
Guarantee
ProbioSlim offers a 30-day, money back guarantee.
Keep in mind that you have to pay for the shipping and handling.
