Overall Opinion:

So, overall I give Thrive Naturals Advanced Probiotic Complex 1/5 stars.

I really don’t like this probiotic supplement for quite a few reasons.

For one, it’s just way too potent.

This supplement just goes overboard with the number of strains and CFUs.

We always think more is better but it can actually be counterproductive.

The immense levels can lead to side effects and some don’t mingle well together.

For instance, this probiotic uses Lactobacillus casei, which is really aggressive and can overrun other good bacteria in the body and occupies the areas where other probiotics could’ve occupied.

Also, high CFU counts can lead to bad side effects like stomachaches and belly bloating (and I had both while taking it!)

This supplement is NOT safe for kids and is only intended for adults 18 years and older.

The directions say adults should take 1 capsule daily on an empty stomach or in between meals.

The capsules themselves are really chunky and were hard for me to swallow.

Another major issue I have with this product is the sales tactics and overall price.

It costs almost $51 for 1 month of probiotics.

That super expensive compared to the average price of probiotics.

And the company and website are SO sales-y.

I get a business has to make money but it doesn’t have to be so aggressive.

The website bombards you with popups and add-ons and up sales.

I lose so much respect for a company when they make you jump through hoop after hoop just to buy their product.

When you choose the probiotic and put it in your cart, it shows you these options and automatically selects the first (and MOST expensive option):

  • 6 Bottles (180-Days) $33.33 each ($199.95 Total) Save 49% – FREE SHIP
  • 3 Bottles (90-Days) $39.65 each ($118.95 Total) Save 39% – FREE SHIP
  • 1 Bottle (30-Days) $43.95 each (Regular Price $65.00)

So they try to get you to buy either $200 or $120 worth of products, which is ridiculous.

And every time you click something or exit out, they slap you with another pop up or ad.

I hate this whole sales process and it really aggravates me.

Also, as I mentioned earlier, I experienced negative side effects.

Along with side effects, I didn’t have any improvement with my IBS symptoms or even overall health like immune function.

Such a disappointment!

Overall, you’re better off saving your money and opting for a different supplement.

The Details:

Ingredients/Strain Profile

There are 16 unique probiotics in the strain profile and each capsule has 50 billion CFUs.

It’s an incredibly potent probiotic supplement and it just goes overboard.

But there are some additions that I like in particular.

I like Bifidobacterium bifidum in the strain profile.

It’s been shown to help boost your immune function, ward off infections, and improve seasonal allergies.

Studies suggest Bifidobacterium bifidum may also help with lowering cholesterol, easing stress levels, and improving the appearance of your skin.

Another strain I really like is Lactobacillus acidophilus.

Countess research suggests that this probiotic strain may help with digestive disorders like Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and inflammatory bowel disease (such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis) and the uncomfortable issues that come along with them.

It’s another immune booster and helps improve the immune function and response in the body.

Lactobacillus acidophilus is a staple for helping prevent diarrhea and chronic constipation, treating vaginal infections, and improving lactose intolerance.

I like the addition of a prebiotic blend to this supplement because prebiotic fiber helps feed the beneficial probiotic bacteria.

Allergy Concerns

Thrive Naturals Advanced Probiotic Complex doesn’t list any allergy concerns.

It seems to be free of all the major allergens.

There’s NO gluten, dairy, or soy.

And it’s made without preservatives, GMOs, synthetic fillers or binders, Magnesium Stearate, or animal by-products.

The capsules are also vegetarian.

The other ingredients include: vegetable cellulose (veggie caps), rice flour, vegetable grade kosher calcium palmitate E, silica.

Price/Value

The baseline price for a 30 capsule bottle is $43.95.

And then you have to tack on another $6.99 for shipping.

So that puts you at a whopping $50.94 per month.

When you break it down, the daily amount costs $1.70 to take this supplement.

That’s SO incredibly expensive compared to your average cost of a probiotic.

And unfortunately, it’s not worth the high price tag whatsoever.

This is a bad value for your money.

Side Effects

I definitely felt some negative side effects when taking this probiotic.

I had a stomachache and was bloated.

It wasn’t fun at all!

And not to mention, I didn’t see any improvement in my IBS symptoms or overall health.

So I felt worse and not better from taking it.

This is a very potent probiotic and it just goes way overboard, like I mentioned earlier.

So just be careful, especially if you have a sensitive stomach or are new to probiotics.

Luckily, Thrive Naturals offers a guarantee for their ridiculously expensive products.
