Overall Opinion:
Overall, I gave TriActive Biotics 3 out of 5 stars, so I think it’s an above average probiotic.
There are definitely some good qualities with this product and there isn’t much I don’t like.
What I like is that this probiotic is super simple to take. Just take one capsule daily on an empty stomach.
The capsules don’t even need to be refrigerated but it can help prolong the life of the cells if you do (just something to keep in mind).
This probiotic supposedly has a special 3-stage delivery system.
The capsules are made up of a prebiotic (FOS), probiotic, and moisture defense. You can actually see the different segments in the capsules; the probiotic cap floats back and forth in a gel like fluid (a little weird but kind of cool).
The first stage is the prebiotic release where the liquid prebiotic is released into the stomach and then gradually into the small intestine.
The second stage is prebiotic protection and this is where the inner probiotic capsule is protected from harmful acid and can safely make it through your stomach.
The third stage is the probiotic delivery into your intestines where the prebiotic has already created a trail of food for it to flourish.
I like when a product goes the extra mile to make sure the probiotic cells will make it to where they need to go and actually survive.
I also like that this probiotic is allergy friendly (soy free, milk free, wheat free, gluten free, vegetarian).
What I don’t like is that this product is NOT safe for children.
There is also no satisfaction guarantee that comes along with this product, so that’s a major bummer.
All in all, I do like TriActive Biotics with its thought-out delivery system and ease of use. Just be sure to keep it away from kids.
The Details:
Ingredients/Strain Profile
There are 14 different probiotic strains in TriActive Biotics with 6 billion live cells per capsule.
Of note, I really like the use of Lb. Acidophilus in the probiotic line up.
Lb. Acidophilus has been extensively studied and may be able to boost immune function, facilitate lactose intolerance, reduce vaginal infections, and help get the body back to normal after taking a round of antibiotics.
Another probiotic strain I like in TriActive Biotics is B. Longum.
B. Longum has been shown to potentially help with a number of digestive disorders such as constipation, diarrhea, Irritable Bowel Sydrome (IBS), and Ulcerative colitis.
This probiotic may also potentially help the body fight off colds, respiratory infections, eczema, and high cholesterol.
Allergy Concerns
TriActive Biotics is very allergy friendly.
The supplements contain NO soy, milk, egg, wheat, gluten, peanuts/tree nuts, or artificial colors.
As a definite perk, this product has no animal byproducts and the capsules are vegetarian.
This probiotic is also non-GMO.
The only potential allergy concern is that it does contain RICE flour.
Other ingredients include: Vegetable capsule, titanium dioxide (capsule), rice flour, vegetable magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, glycerin, MCC, vegetable cellulose and water.
Price/Value
For a 30-day supply of TriActive Biotics (30 capsules) it costs $18.99.
This comes out to be $0.63 a day.
That price point is about average as far as daily probiotics go.
Side Effects
After taking TriActive Biotics, I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary.
I didn’t notice any stomach pain or discomfort with these capsules.
I’m always happy to try a new product without getting icky side effects.
Guarantee
I wasn’t able to find any type of satisfaction guarantee for Essential Source’s products.
That’s a total bummer!
I would’ve really liked to see some sort of guarantee with this probiotic.
