Overall Opinion:
I give Klaire Labs Ther-Biotic Children’s Chewable 1.5 out of 5 stars.
I was really excited to see a probiotic formulated specifically for children. Because just like us, kids need their daily dose of friendly bacteria, too!
This supplement has some things I like about it but unfortunately as a whole, this probiotic isn’t a winner in my books.
I’ll start off with what I like.
This probiotic is chewable, which makes it great for kids.
One of the many challenges of getting your kids to take probiotics is literally getting them to take it.
So I like the chewable aspect of it.
You only have to take 1 daily, so it’s 1 and done and on with the day.
The supplement is pretty affordable and extremely allergy friendly.
It’s also free of any artificial junk, which is crucial when we’re looking at a children’s supplement.
Now for what I don’t like…
My BIGGEST issue with this probiotic is that it’s just way too potent for a child.
25 billion CFUs is pretty ridiculous, especially for a children as young as 2.
That amount is even high for an adult.
So I’m baffled as to why the supplement is so strong when it’s specifically intended for kids.
You have to refrigerate the bottle to keep it at maximum potency, which makes it less convenient.
Also, I like the idea of a chewable tablet for a kid but unfortunately this one doesn’t taste good.
It starts off decent, but nothing appetizing, and then randomly turns a bit sour or medicinal tasting.
I’m not sure if kids are really going to like it because I didn’t even really like it… and I eat kale voluntarily.
Another thing is you can’t buy these products from the Klaire Labs website unless you’re a healthcare professional.
And if you are, then you have to register and login and that whole song and dance to purchase your products.
So I did what every other person does when they want something and I bought it from Amazon.
All in all, this children’s supplement is a flop and I wouldn’t recommend it for your kiddos.

Ingredients/Strain Profile
In each tablet, there are 25 billion CFUs and it comes in 8 different probiotic strains.
It includes 4 strains from the Lactobacillus family and 4 from the Bifidobacterium family.
I like that there’s Lactobacillus rhamnosus in the bunch.
This friendly bacteria is suggested to prevent harmful bacteria from growing in the intestines and stomach.
It’s also been studied to prevent and treat diarrhea from the rotavirus in babies and children.
It may even potentially treat colic in babies.
Another strain I like is Bifidobacterium longum.
B. longum is believed to boost immune function, improve allergies, and alleviate symptoms from Celiac disease and IBS.
Studies suggest it improves the gut flora and immune functions in children with newly diagnosed Celiac disease.
Interestingly, this probiotic doesn’t include heavy hitters like Lactobacillus Acidophilus.
It also has some probiotic strains that I’m not a fan of like Lactobacillus casei.
This strain can be aggressive and potentially overrun other good bacteria because it takes the place of where they would’ve been in the body.
Allergy Concerns
Klaire Labs Ther-Biotic Children’s Chewable are very allergy friendly.
I’m really impressed with how clean these tablets are. (But as they should be if they’re intended for kids)
The supplements don’t contain any: milk/casein, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat/gluten, or soybeans.
They’re made without any artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.
The other ingredients include: Xylitol, natural cherry flavor, natural vanilla flavor, silicon dioxide, stearic acid, magnesium stearate, and natural licorice extract.
Price/Value
It costs $25.93 for a bottle of 60 chewable tablets.
You only have to take 1 tablet daily, so it winds up with a daily cost of $0.43.
That’s actually really affordable.
It’s even a tad less than your average probiotic supplement.
I think it’s a pretty good value for the cost, if it fits your specific needs.
Side Effects
I never saw any negative side effects while taking this probiotic.
So, that’s a good thing.
However, I was definitely expecting to see some effects since this probiotic is pretty strong.
Which still baffles me that this is intended for children as little as 2 years old.
On the plus side, this probiotic is extremely hypoallergenic and is free of all the major allergens.
Guarantee
On Klaire Labs’ website it says that their products are only available for healthcare professionals.
I don’t personally fall into that category and I’m assuming the majority of you don’t either.
So right away we’re pretty much out of luck when it comes to a guarantee.
But if you are a healthcare professional then you have to register and login and do all that jazz to get started.
If you do that, here’s what it says for their “guarantee”, which in my opinion is a sorry excuse for a legitimate guarantee.
Basically you can return the product for any reason within 30 days of purchase BUT the bottles must be unopened.
If you have opened bottles, you can return within 30 days of purchase but only for an account credit.
And the final kicker… probiotics are not returnable.
So all in all, this “guarantee” sucks.
If you buy this probiotic off of Amazon, you might be able to return it but double check with their Customer Service Department beforehand.
