Overall Opinion:
Overall, at 3 out of 5 stars, Naturo Sciences Ultrabiotics 15 is a slightly above average product.
I really like the convenience of this probiotic.
You only have to take one capsule daily before eating food.
The capsules are a bit smaller than average, have a time-release formula, and they are vegetarian, which I really like.
You also don’t have to refrigerate these capsules.
This makes them much more stable and convenient to store.
The capsules come in special dry nitrogen filled blister packs that keep the probiotics alive.
Think of the blister packs as mini refrigerators, pretty neat!
Chicory inulin is added to the blend, which is a prebiotic that helps feed the probiotic.
I like this addition.
There are a few things that I don’t like about Ultrabiotics 15.
For one, I got some side effects while first taking it.
15 billion cells are definitely on the higher end for a daily probiotic.
If you have a sensitive stomach, you may want to opt for a more gentle cell count.
A second thing I don’t like is these capsules are not safe for kids.
Overall, I think Ultrabiotics 15 is a slightly above average product because it’s convenient to use, doesn’t have to be refrigerated, contains a prebiotic and is vegetarian, however it’s not safe for kids and can lead to side effects.
The Details:
Ingredients/Strain Profile
Naturo Sciences Ultrabiotics 15 has 15 billion cells in 6 probiotic strains.
Of note, I like the use of Lactobacillus acidophilus.
Lactobacillus acidophilus has been researched quite extensively compared to other probiotic strains.
It has been researched to show digestive support and helps relieve digestive disorders such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), gas, constipation, diarrhea, and bloating.
This strain may also help digest lactose and prevent yeast infections.
Another strain that I like in the probiotic lineup is Bifidobacterium longum.
This strain has been researched to show a potential reduction in overall stress and anxiety.
Bifidobacterium longum is also being studied as a possible risk reducer for colon cancer.
B. longum has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.
Allergy Concerns
Ultrabiotics 15 is very allergy friendly.
The capsules contain no common allergens.
They are also vegetarian, which is a nice perk!
The other ingredients in the capsules include: chicory inulin (prebiotic fiber), hypromellose (capsule), vegetable magnesium stearate, and silica.
Price/Value
For 60 capsules lasting 2 months, it costs $29.97.
This works out to be $0.49 per day to take this probiotic.
The price is right around average, maybe a bit lower.
I think Ultrabiotics 15 is a good value for the price.
Side Effects
I did get some side effects while first taking Ultrabiotics 15.
For the first few days I had a bellyache along with some stomach cramps.
Side effects are never fun.
15 billion cells are also on the higher end for daily probiotics.
The higher cell count may make side effects more common.
