Overall Opinion:

Overall, at 3 out of 5 stars, I think Plexus ProBio 5 is a slightly above average daily probiotic.

I really like the strain profile used in this probiotic.  It uses 5 solid strains that seem to be extremely effective for digestive health.

I felt really good the entire time I took these capsules and I could tell they were helping my digestive issues such as belly pain and bloating.

These capsules are unique because along with a probiotic blend, it contains a proprietary enzyme blend, grape seed extract, Vitamin C and Vitamin B6.

These additions give this probiotic an extra boost and made me notice a quicker positive effect from taking this probiotic.

You also don’t have to refrigerate this probiotic, which makes it a bit more stable.

So with these positive qualities, there are some things that I don’t like about this product.

It’s not very allergy friendly, it contains yeast, gelatin and brown rice powder.  This is so unfortunate.

The capsules can be taken 1 – 4 times a day, which is a little much in my opinion.

It says to take 1 capsule in the evening with a meal or at bedtime for maintenance.  It then says to take up to 4 capsules in the evening with a meal or at bedtime, until you reach the desired results.

With taking up to 4 capsules a day, it makes this probiotic very expensive, coming in at about $2.33 a day.

The CFUs are also only guaranteed at the time of manufacture, which is a bummer.

Overall, I like that this probiotic has added ingredients for digestive and immune health and that it has a good strain profile but I don’t like that it’s expensive and isn’t allergy friendly.

The Details:

Ingredients/Strain Profile

Plexus ProBio 5 has 2 billion CFUs in each capsule with 5 different probiotic strains.

Of note, I like the use of Lactobacillus acidophilus in the probiotic lineup.

This probiotic strain has been researched to show a possible balancing out of the body’s bacteria levels.

It also may help with gastrointestinal health such as the digestive breakdown of lactose, regularity, and easing symptoms of gas and diarrhea.

In addition to digestive support, this strain may also help lessen asthma symptoms, enhance immune function, and lower high cholesterol.

I also like the use of Bifidobacterium longum.

Bifidobacterium longum has been researched to show potential decreases in inflammation associated with inflammatory bowel conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

This strain may also help lower the prevalence of certain allergies.

B. longum has also been shown to possibly help recolonize the good bacteria that has been stripped from the body after taking a round of antibiotics.

Allergy Concerns

ProBio 5 does have allergy concerns.

These capsules contain YEAST, GELATIN, and BROWN RICE POWDER.

The only other ingredient used is water.

Price/Value

For 60 capsules, Plexus ProBio 5 costs $34.95.

Depending on if you take 1 – 4 capsules daily, it will cost $0.58 – $2.33 a day.

If you take 1 capsule daily, $0.58 is a very reasonable and affordable price.

However, if you take 4 capsules daily, it ends up being an extremely expensive $2.33 a day.

Overall, I would say this probiotic lands on the pricier end of the probiotic spectrum.

Side Effects

I didn’t experience any negative side effects while taking ProBio 5.

I felt really good the whole time I took these capsules.

It’s also a plus when I don’t have any icky side effects while testing out new probiotics.

Guarantee

Plexus ProBio 5 has a 60-day money back guarantee.

You have between 15 – 60 days to return the product for a full refund.

I really like that this product has a money back guarantee, but keep in mind that you have to pay for shipping and handling.
