Rae Wellness Pre + Probiotic has been popping up everywhere lately and I was excited to try it.
Target carries this brand and has been promoting it along with Instagram and other social media.
It seems like a fun, new brand and I’m always eager to try new brands or items that pop up on my radar.
There are a lot of qualities I like with this probiotic but also some big issues I have.
The biggest issue is their packaging.
It’s cute and all but it’s a clear plastic jar with a wide mouth opening.
This is a big no-no with probiotics! Probiotic bacteria are very vitale and are greatly affected and damaged by UV light and moisture.
It’s best to have a darker, thicker glass bottle or white plastic bottles packaged inside of a box.
I kept my bottle inside the cardboard packaging it came with to help protect it from light and moisture.
It’s also important to store the bottles in a cool, dry place.
They do have a packet inside the jar with the probiotics to help preserve the bacteria.
You also have to take 2 capsules daily on an empty stomach. I prefer only having to take 1 capsule daily, but these are a bit smaller in size and easier to swallow.
I like that it has 6 different probiotics, but they don’t list the specific strains, unfortunately.
And it only contains 1.6 billion CFU, which is less than ideal.
It’s definitely a gentler supplement and I’d suggest it more for daily support.
It’s not quite powerful enough to handle bigger digestive issues like IBS or chronic belly problems.
I like that the capsules are vegan, gluten free, and don’t have any icky preservatives or artificial ingredients.
My IBS symptoms were a bit more manageable after taking this probiotic, but I definitely need more relief long term.
I noticed my skin looked a bit clearer, though, which was a definite perk.
I think it’s an affordable option if you’re looking for a gentle, daily supplement and don’t have any specific ailments you’re working around.

I wish they gave the exact strains for each probiotic, but they only list the genus and species.
For instance, they list L. acidophilus but not the specific strain, such as Lactobacillus acidophilus La-14.
But while we’re on that probiotic, I do like that they included it.
L. acidophilus supports a healthy digestive system, regularity, and overall gut health.
This probiotic has been shown to balance out bacteria levels in the body and push out harmful bacteria and pathogens. It’s also great for preventing and treating vaginal infections and bacterial vaginosis (BV) in women.
L. acidophilus works to support proper gut health and a healthy gut supports proper immune function, heart health, brain function, and skin health.
I like that Rae Wellness included a prebiotic, specifically apple cider vinegar, which aids to calm your gut to keep intestinal flora balanced and healthy. Prebiotics also help feed the friendly bacteria and keep them alive while going through your digestive tract.

The capsules contain rice powder, which isn’t a major allergen, but I like to mention it when I see it in the ingredients.
Other than that, I really like how allergy-friendly and clean it is!

I think it’s a good value for the price, but it’s just not the most powerful probiotic.
Side Effects
This is a pretty gentle probiotic, and I didn’t experience any icky side effects while taking it.
I was curious to see if I’d notice any difference since this one has apple cider vinegar in it, which is new to me.
But I didn’t have any big side effects or changes to note.
I did feel a bit better while taking these and my IBS symptoms were more manageable.
However, I don’t think it’s potent enough to really provide strong relief from specific ailments.
