Overall Opinion:
I ended up giving this probiotic 1.5 out of 5 stars.
Solimo Probiotic is actually an Amazon brand, which is something I’ve never seen before.
I’m an Amazon addict but unfortunately this supplement didn’t live up to my expectations.
It has a few redeeming qualities but overall it’s definitely lacking in some major areas.
So let’s start off with what I like.
The veggie caps come in a blister pack, which are convenient and make it easier for travel since they’re slender, easy to pack, and don’t need to be refrigerated.
Just make sure you store them in a cool, dry place way from direct sunlight.
The capsules are also a bit smaller than average, gluten and lactose free, and are easy to swallow.
You only have to take 1 daily, but it’s only safe for adults and you need to take them with food.
The supplements are really affordable and Amazon gives you a crazy awesome 1-year money back guarantee.
That pretty much wraps up my positives with this probiotic.
So let’s take a look at what I don’t like about it.
My biggest problem with this supplement is that it’s just not potent or diverse enough to make a real beneficial difference.
I didn’t see any benefits after taking this probiotic.
I have IBS and with that comes painful side effects like constipation, bloating, and poor digestion.
Probiotics are really the only thing that gives me relief and I saw none of that from this probiotic.
It only has 1 strain and it just isn’t enough to get the job done.
So unfortunately it just didn’t work for me. Definite bummer!
It also says it doesn’t have artificial flavors but it does have artificial colors.
It uses titanium dioxide for color, which I don’t like.
A lot of companies are using natural ingredients to color supplements such as turmeric.
Overall, I’m just not impressed with this Amazon brand and don’t recommend it.
The Details:
Ingredients/Strain Profile
One serving size (which is 1 veggie capsule) of Solimo Probiotic has 10 billion CFU or colony-forming units and only one probiotic strain.
I really wish they utilized more strains to diversify the supplement because one just isn’t ideal.
The strain they use is Lactobacillus Rhamnosus GG.
This probiotic strain is considered to be anti-inflammatory. Inflammation is at the root of many digestive ailments and bowel diseases like Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative colitis, which cause chronic inflammation in the digestive tract.
Lactobacillus Rhamnosus GG also has immune boosting and anti-microbial properties.
This supplement also has a tiny dose of Vitamin C (3 mg – 3% Daily Value).
It also includes inulin in the form of chicory root extract (200 mg).
Inulin is a prebiotic that helps fertilize or feed the friendly bacteria.
Allergy Concerns
Solimo Probiotic 10 Billion CFU doesn’t list any allergy concerns.
It does say that the capsules are gluten free and lactose free.
They don’t use any artificial flavors and the capsules are vegetarian.
The other ingredients include: Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, maltodextrin. Contains 2% or less of ascorbic acid, gellan gum, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide (color).
Price/Value
A box of 30 veggie capsules costs $11.75 on Amazon.
You’re going to take 1 daily, so it works out to only .39 cents per day.
That’s really affordable compared to most probiotic supplements.
You can also utilize Subscribe & Save (5% or 15%) or buy 60 capsules to get a little better deal.
It’s a great price but the quality is really lacking for me, so it ends up being a less than average value for your money.
Side Effects
I didn’t experience any negative side effects while taking Solimo Probiotic 10 Billion CFU.
It’s not super potent, either.
Just make sure you take the supplement with food.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have any positive effects either. So that’s a major downfall.
Guarantee
Solimo is an Amazon Brand and Amazon is pretty well known for being customer friendly.
With that they have an absolutely amazing guarantee!
They have a satisfaction guarantee and if you aren’t satisfied, they will refund you for any reason within a year of purchase.
I’m super impressed with this! You can’t really beat this type of guarantee so kudos to Amazon.
