Overall Opinion:

I must say, I’m really impressed with this probiotic.  I’m such a fan!

I give GoLive Probiotic + Prebiotic Supplement 3.5 out of 5 stars.

I was a little wary at the beginning because this supplement contains ready-to-mix packets.

I love unique delivery systems but unfortunately a lot of the mixable powders and packets are cumbersome and downright gross.

Much to my surprise, the GoLive packets mix SO well (no grit or chunks!) and are so yummy.

I got the Blu-Lemon flavor and it’s the perfect mixture of lemonade and blueberry and it’s lightly sweetened and refreshing and no icky aftertaste.

They have a ton of different flavors to choose from like berry pomegranate, berry-licious fruit punch (for kids), paradise coconut + kiwi + passionfruit, tangerine turmeric, spa melon + cucumber, and flavorless (no sugar and zero calories).

They’re safe for all ages, even kids, which is awesome.

It’s so convenient and easy and you don’t have to refrigerate the packets.

You can take them any time of day, with or without food.

Just dissolve the contents of 1 packet into 8 – 16 ounces of any liquid or food (<75 °F).

You can mix it in pretty much whatever your heart desires like water, shakes, baby food, juice, PB & J sandwiches, ice cream, you name it!

Just don’t put it in anything above 100 degrees F or liquid containing alcohol because both will kill the good bacteria.

GoLive offers effective delivery and bioavailability so the probiotics are alive at the time of consumption (vs. manufacture).

These probiotics are freeze-dried and individually packaged in foil to prevent exposure to moisture and harmful heat-generating light.

This product is versatile and can be used for varying situations depending on your specific needs.

For those with acute or ongoing gut-related issues (such as IBS/IBD, eczema, antibiotic treatment, food allergy/sensitivity, candida, digestive imbalance, etc.) they recommend taking 1 or more servings of GoLive daily to help restore healthy bacterial colonization.

If you’re looking for maintenance or general support, they suggest taking 1 packet every 2-3 days.

GoLive is very transparent about its product and has an amazing FAQ page that goes into detail in so many different areas.

They list out the exact strains used and include a number of prebiotic fibers and sugars to help nourish the friendly bacteria.

It’s definitely a potent supplement, so ease into it, but I found it to be very helpful with my IBS symptoms, food sensitivities, digestion, and constipation.

I do wish they had a money back guarantee, though, because if you take these daily for advanced support, it’s really pricey.

Overall, I’m so pleased with this product and would definitely recommend it.

The Details:

Ingredients/Strain Profile

GoLive Probiotic + Prebiotic Supplement has 15 billion colony forming units (CFU) and a proprietary probiotic blend of 15 probiotic strains.

Normally I don’t like probiotics that have this many strains and CFU but GoLive did a fantastic job with this formula.

They don’t use any generic, spore-forming or yeast-based strains in their products.

GoLive also gives the specific probiotic strains in the supplement facts, not just the species.

And they stick to strains native to the human body and ones that are clinically-tested.

One strain in this formula I really like is Bifidobacterium Bifidum Bb-06.  This strain is known to be beneficial in a number of areas like treating irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), restoring intestinal bacteria after chemotherapy, alleviating constipation and certain kinds of diarrhea, and relieving ulcerative colitis.

GoLive includes a great deal of prebiotic fibers and sugars (much more than the average probiotic supplement I’ve seen) that act as food to help nourish the beneficial bacteria.

This supplement also includes some unique ingredients to help create a healthy, supportive “home” for the probiotics to grow and colonize.

These include L-glutamine and Vitamin D3, which play a vital role in building and repairing the intestinal tract lining, making it easier for friendly probiotic bacteria to colonize and thrive.

L-glutamine works to repair the intestinal lining and decreases inflammation creating an optimal surface for the friendly bacteria to adhere to.  This is particularly important for those with Leaky Gut or ulcerative issues.  L-glutamine is almost like a belly Band-Aid, helping to repair and reinforce areas of the gut that have been destroyed or weakened.

Vitamin D3 works with probiotics to boost calcium absorption and lower gut inflammation.  Depending on where we live, a lot of us don’t absorb enough of Vitamin D3 from the sun so it’s beneficial to supplement with this vitamin.

Another thing I like is there’s no B. Coagulans in the formula.  This is a spore-forming strain that is known to cause side effects in some people.

Allergy Concerns

I really like this company because they’re very transparent.

They say on the box that this product contains milk protein at undetectable levels of <1 ppm (parts per million).

So while GoLive doesn’t contain detectable amounts of dairy or milk, these products are used during the fermentation process, which is true regarding the majority of all probiotic products on the market.

I personally am sensitive to dairy and I didn’t have a problem with this product.

These supplements are gluten free, yeast free, soy free, and non-GMO.

They don’t contain any artificial flavors, sweeteners, colors, or preservatives.

All GoLive products are free of tree nuts and peanuts and are manufactured in nut free facilities.

GoLive ready-to-mix blends contain Vitamin D3 from Lanolin, which is derived from sheep’s wool.

So this product isn’t vegan but it is vegetarian.

The other ingredients include: Cane Sugar, Citric Acid, Natural Flavors (with Blueberry Extracts), Monk Fruit Extract, Natural Color (from Fruit and Vegetable Juice), and Silica.

Price/Value

I bought a box of GoLive Probiotic + Prebiotic for $14.99.  I love that they have free shipping on all orders, so that’s a definite plus.

The box has 10 packets and it ranges from 10 to 30 day supply depending on how you use it.

If you need more support with an acute or ongoing gut-related health concern they suggest taking 1 or more servings per day to help restore healthy bacterial colonization.

If you’re looking for maintenance, they suggest taking one serving every 2-3 days.

So it ranges from $0.49 to $1.49 per day to take this probiotic.

49 cents is a steal for this supplement but $1.49 is definitely very expensive for a probiotic.

It depends on how you end up using this product but regardless I think it ends up being a great value for the price.

GoLive also offers 20% off your first purchase if you sign up for their online newsletter.

Side Effects

I did have some side effects while taking this probiotic.

It wasn’t anything too crazy but I felt some bloating and gas.

Luckily, it went away within the first few days.

This supplement is definitely powerful and I’d suggest easing into it if you’re new to probiotics or have a sensitive stomach.

Another thing to keep in mind is this product has a solid amount of prebiotic fiber, which can require an adjustment period if you’re not used to taking.

Start slow with 1 packet every 2-3 days before upping to 1 packet per day.

On their website, they it’s normal to experience mild digestive changes, such as gas, bloating, or gurgling, during initial probiotic use.  They say these symptoms are a sign that intestinal environment is changing and usually subside within a few days.

Guarantee

At first, I couldn’t find a guarantee, refund policy, or anything on their website.

So I emailed the GoLive customer service department.

In the meantime, I ended up finding a return policy link at the bottom of one of the last checkout pages.

It says they have a 30 day return policy but to be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition as you received it.  It must also be in the original packaging.

You also have to pay for return shipping and all shipping costs are non-refundable.

Basically, it’s a why bother refund policy because you can’t even open it.  That’s so silly to me.

Customer service emailed back and said they will refund 100% of the purchase price for any product purchased directly from them.

They failed to mention that you can’t open or use the product to be eligible, but maybe they’ve changed their policy?

In any case, it’s confusing and I wouldn’t consider it a money back guarantee.

They did say in the email that you can request product samples to try before you buy if you email them at [email protected].
