Overall Opinion:

So this is my second go around trying a Physician’s Choice supplement.

The first was a women’s probiotic and it was an awful experience.

Unfortunately, the second attempt with this brand followed suit.

I ended up giving Physician’s Choice 60 Billion Probiotic 1 out of 5 stars.

I came in with an open mind, but this brand just does not gel with me whatsoever.

Both supplements have given me such bad side effects.

And way more intense than your typical adjustment phase with probiotics.

They just go way overboard and jam in way too many strains and CFU and prebiotics.

It’s a cocktail of great things in theory, but too much of a good thing can be a bad thing.

And it honestly had zero effect on my IBS symptoms and digestive issues.

So I ended up feeling worse than when I started.

If you’re new to probiotics or have a sensitive stomach, please be wary and do your research before supplementing with probiotics, especially potent ones.

Luckily, the company offers a guarantee, so that’s positive.

And the veggies capsules are shelf stable and free from common allergens.

However, these capsules (along with the line of women’s probiotics) smell absolutely terrible.

I usually don’t notice a smell to my probiotic supplements, but these definitely caught my attention.

I thought it was so odd!

Overall, I’m officially not a fan of this company and their line of probiotics.

Save your money and pass on these!

The Details:

Ingredients/Strain Profile

As the name suggests, Physician’s Choice 60 Billion Probiotic has 60 billion CFU and 10 different probiotic strains.

This is mega potent and I’m not a fan of these types of supplements.

The old saying off too much of a good thing can be a bad thing.

Sometimes these high levels of CFU and strains compete with each other and other good bacteria.

Some even lead to negative side effects.

But of the strains used, I do like that Lactobacillus plantarum Lp-115 is used.

This strain is known to help balance out the good and bad bacteria within the body and keep the levels in check.

It’s also a good aid in helping you stay more regular with bowel movements.

It further helps with icky IBS symptoms and reducing uncomfortable gas and bloating.

This particular probiotic supplement uses an Organic Prebiotic Fiber Blend including Jerusalem Artichoke Root (Organic), Gum Arabic tree exudate from stem and branches (Organic) Fibregum Bio®, Chicory Root powder (Cichorium intybus) (Organic).

The use of prebiotics is a perfect pair with probiotics because they act as a fertilizer for the friendly bacteria.

However, an excessive number of prebiotics can lead to a negative effect and can cause some not so great side effects.

So it’s a fine line between good and just too much.

Allergy Concerns

One of the only things I actually like about this probiotic is that it does seem to be really allergy friendly.

It’s free of all the major allergens.

The bottle says the capsules contain NO: soy, gluten, milk, egg, wheat, GMOs, peanuts, or shellfish.

And it’s also free of color additives, binders, and preservatives.

The other ingredients include: Vegetable Capsule (Hydroxylpropyl methylcellulose and water), Maltodextrin (Rice), L-Leucine (natural).

Price/Value

I bought this supplement on the Physician’s Choice website for the one-time purchase amount.

It’s $23.89 for 30 veggie caps, so it works out to about 80 cents per day to take them.

That’s just a touch above average but nothing super crazy.

They knock the price down to $19.11 (20% off) if you subscribe to recurring orders.

Regardless of which payment method you do, I don’t think it ends up being a good price for the value.

Side Effects

Ugh, I definitely had side effects with this probiotic.

I felt so uncomfortable and had bloating and gas.

And to make matters worse, I felt zero positive effects.

I have IBS and a slew of icky digestive issues and this probiotic did nothing for me.

It honestly just made matters worse.

Please be cautious with this potent probiotic, especially if you have a sensitive stomach or are new to probiotics.

Guarantee

Yes, Physician’s Choice offers a guarantee for their customers.

It’s a 100% money back guarantee and a no questions asked refund policy.

They state that for any reason you’re not satisfied or feel that your product isn’t working, just contact them directly with your order number and product and they will refund you immediately.

I’m very happy that they offer this for their customers.
