Overall Opinion:

I feel like I’ve been seeing Love Wellness crop up everywhere online, especially on Instagram.

I was eager to get my hands on their Good Girl Probiotics to see what all the hype was about.

And I’m not going to lie, I had such a tough time deciding on the final rating.

I ended up giving it 3/5 stars, but it was definitely a roller coaster ride to get there.

Every time I found something I liked, there’d be a negative just around the corner.

So, let me just touch on the basic pros and cons I found with Love Wellness Good Girl Probiotics.

Let’s start with the pros of this probiotic.

I’m in love with the capsules because they’re so itty bitty and easy to swallow.  You can store them at room temperature and the supplements have a two-year shelf life.

I’m a definite fan of probiotics specifically geared towards female issues because these friendly bacteria do wonders for our entire bodies.

Love Wellness uses 8 Lactobacilli strains that are naturally found in the vaginal microbiome.  These strains help support vaginal health, gut health, and boosting immune function.

This probiotic is designed for women who are suffering from yeast infections, UTIs, BV (Bacterial Vaginosis), and abnormal pH levels.

They suggest using this product to help maintain healthy bacteria levels or to get back on track after an infection or irritation.

I feel like it did its job and helped me bounce back from an icky yeast infection and gave me some relief from my Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

So now let’s hop over to what I don’t like about this product.

Love Wellness doesn’t offer any sort of guarantee to their customers.  This is a deal breaker for me, especially since this product is more expensive.

And to make matters worse, they have the crappiest return policy.  Crappy as in you can’t return your product if it’s been opened or used.  So silly.

These capsules also have some allergy concerns because they contain dairy & gelatin.

I also wish they added prebiotic fibers to their formula.

Another thing is they only list probiotic strain complexes instead of putting the specific strain type.

All in all, I do think this is a good contender if you’re looking specifically for help with yeast infections, BV, UTIs, and pH imbalances.

But make sure you read through my highlights in the review to see if it’s a good fit for you, since you’re SOL if you buy the product and don’t like it.

The Details:

Ingredients/Strain Profile

Love Wellness Good Girl Probiotics has 1 billion CFUs per serving (2 caps) and a probiotic blend of 8 probiotic strains.

All 8 of these probiotic strains are naturally occurring in the vagina.  They specifically use lactobacillus species, which are the most common bacteria in healthy vaginal flora.

Lactobacilli helps keep a healthy vaginal ecosystem by maintaining a pH level of around 4.  They produce lactic acid, hydrogen peroxide, and other substances that prevent the growth of yeast and other unwanted organisms.

Problems strike, like bacterial vaginosis (BV), yeast infections, and UTIs, when there’s a disruption of normal vaginal flora and a loss of lactobacilli.  So it’s important to keep a balance of friendly bacteria and a mildly acidic environment to help ward off icky infections.

I’m so happy they included Lactobacillus Acidophilus in the lineup because it’s so important for feminine health and health overall.  Studies show that L. acidophilus may be very helpful in treating and preventing candida overgrowth, yeast infections, and BV.  This strain may also help with lactose intolerance, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), depression, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), and boosting the immune system.

Lactobacillus Rhamnosus is another great strain and research shows it may be beneficial for preventing UTIs because of its ability to kill harmful bacteria and restore healthy vaginal flora.  L. rhamnosus works to prevent bad bacteria from colonizing while encouraging the growth of beneficial bacteria.  This strain is great for digestive health because it increases the production of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) that act as nourishment for the cells lining your colon.  L. rhamnosus may be beneficial for treating and preventing diarrhea, relieving IBS Symptoms, protecting against cavities, and fighting allergies and acne.

I wish they included a prebiotic fiber to their ingredients, and they don’t include the specific strain but use “complex” instead, which is less than ideal.

Allergy Concerns

Good Girl Probiotics aren’t dairy-free because the bacteria in their formula are fermented in dairy.

That’s pretty common among probiotic supplements but more and more companies are opting for dairy-free mediums for fermentation.

It’s also not vegan because the capsules contain gelatin.

These capsules are gluten-free, though.

Aside from the probiotic complex, the other ingredients include: Magnesium Stearate and Gelatin (Capsule).

Price/Value

I bought these Good Girl Probiotics online from the Love Wellness website.

It’s $24.99 for a one-time purchase and has 60 capsules that last 1 month.  You have to tack on $6 for shipping, which puts the total at $30.99.  (P.S – the shipping is DHL Ground – 3-5 business days.)

They offer a few options to get free shipping, which I’ll go over in a second.

If you pay for shipping, though, it works out to a daily cost of $1.03.  If you score some free shipping, it brings the daily cost down to $0.83.

Both options are a bit more expensive than average, but if you pay for shipping, it’s definitely a lot pricier than your typical probiotic.

When you first land on the website, they pop up an offer for free shipping.  You just have to take a little quiz and it helps figure out what products will help you best.  This offer only works for first time purchases, though.

The next option is to subscribe & save 25% + free shipping.  The probiotic gets knocked down to $18.74 and they send you a free vitamin organizer.  You choose your frequency from 1-4 months.

I also had a few 25% off pop-ups come up when I went to check out.  I’m not sure if these codes will still be available, but just in case: “AC-3ash9b” or “AC-qfx8p9”.

The only thing is you can’t use discount codes on sale items, subscription products, or the New You Kit.

One last thing I like is they have rewards points.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the point system:

  • 100 pts = $5 off
  • 200 pts = $10 off
  • 300 pts = $15 off

Side Effects

I didn’t personally experience any negative side effects with this probiotic.

There’s only 1 billion CFU per serving, so it’s easier on your stomach and not crazy potent.

However, I did see online that some girls did get some belly pain, bloating, and gas.

One tip is to start by taking 1 capsule daily (½ serving) and gradually work up to 2 caps as your body gets adjusted to it.

Guarantee

I’m really bummed out because Love Wellness doesn’t offer any kind of guarantee.  I feel like it’s necessary for a company to back their products.

It’s concerning when they don’t, especially when you’re paying more than average for a supplement.  They don’t even have a worthwhile return policy…

Their website states: “Due to the intimate nature of our products, we can only accept returns on products that have not been opened or used.  Products must be in their original packing, with all safety seals intact.”

And returns must be made within 30 days of the original date of purchase.

To start a return, send an email with your Order # and the word “Return” in the subject to [email protected].

Love Wellness also says that if you’re unhappy with your purchase or if it’s damaged on arrival, send them a note at [email protected].
