Overall Opinion:
After researching and testing out NatureMyst Probiotics 50 Billion CFU, I give it a final rating of 1.5 out of 5 stars.
So obviously it isn’t a winner in my friendly bacteria book.
There are quite a few things I’m just not a fan of.
First and foremost, I really didn’t see any benefits from taking it.
I have IBS so my digestion thrives on probiotics to help keep things running accordingly.
I’m surprised because this supplement is mega potent with a whopping 50 billion CFU and 18 strains.
I saw no difference. :(
That’s another thing, though.
I don’t like that they went overboard with these counts.
It’s not always necessary and sometimes it even causes problems.
You have to take 2 – 4 capsules daily, which is a pain. And the capsules are fairly big.
I like my one-and-done method.
Speaking of the capsules, they smell AWFUL…like strong baby formula.
So I’m not sure what the deal is there but it’s so gross.
Sometimes probiotics have a smell to them but this one is super overpowering.
This product has a 60-day guarantee, which is great.
BUT they don’t have a website… it’s just an Amazon sales page.
I don’t like that.
It can also get pretty expensive. If you take the upper end of the dosage, it’s $1.13 per day to take.
That’s a ton pricier than you’re average probiotic.
It also uses some bacteria strains that I’ve never heard of before.
The few pluses I could find are that the capsules are vegan, non-GMO, allergy friendly, and don’t need to be refrigerated.
But other than that, this supplement was a dud.
The Details:
Ingredients/Strain Profile
Each serving (2 capsules) of NatureMyst Probiotics has 50 billion CFU and 18 probiotic strains.
These are insanely high numbers for each and rather unnecessary.
I don’t like probiotics that have incredibly high strain counts and CFU because it can actually cause potential issues.
Some strains of probiotics “don’t play well together” in a sense, and it may cause some side effects.
This particular supplement also includes strains I’ve never seen or heard of before, which is odd.
For instance, it has B. adolescentis and L. crispatus and I’m not familiar with either of these.
Which is crazy because I’ve tried hundreds of probiotic supplements, usually companies will stick to the most well-known and documented strains.
On a positive note, it does have Lactobacillus acidophilus, which is one of my favs.
This strain is heavily researched and may soothe symptoms from Crohn’s disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), and gut dysbiosis.
Studies suggest it may help increase immune response, treat yeast infections, and reduce the frequency of urinary tract infections (UTIs).
It also has L. reuteri in the probiotic lineup.
L. reuteri is shown to be an immune booster, lower cholesterol levels, and may help fight off candida.
Candida overgrowth is one of the most common causes of fungal infections in humans and leads to a host of problems like yeast infections and thrush.
This supplement uses a strain that I’m not a big fan of, Lactobacillus casei.
L. Casei is an aggressive bacterium that can overrun other “good” bacteria by occupying areas that other probiotics might have taken in the body.
However, it still shows positive bodily effects like combating stress, reducing inflammation, and having antioxidant properties.
One last note about the ingredients is that it has 40 mg of Fructooligosaccharides or FOS for short.
FOS is a prebiotic fiber that helps boost probiotic activity.
Allergy Concerns
NatureMyst Probiotics doesn’t list any allergy concerns.
It seems pretty allergy friendly.
On the bottle it says that it contains NO: gluten, soy, sugar, egg, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, milk, starch, lactose, wheat, yeast, sodium, fillers, PCBs, or heavy metals.
It’s also free of artificial color, flavor, or sweetener, preservatives, and it’s non-GMO.
The capsules are 100% vegan and made in the USA.
The other ingredients include: water, cellulose (vegetable capsule).
Price/Value
I bought this supplement on Amazon for $16.99.
You get 60 veggies caps and it says to take 2-4 capsules daily.
So it ranges from $0.56 – $1.13 per day to take.
56 cents is a great deal but $1.13 is super expensive compared to your average probiotic.
I really don’t think the price is worth it in this case.
There’s much better value out there.
Side Effects
So I’m pretty surprised because I didn’t see any negative side effects with this probiotic supplement.
I say this because it’s very potent! 50 billion CFU and 18 strains is definitely a powerful, over the top combo.
The bottle even warns against potential side effects.
It says: “Stomach upset maybe sign of effectiveness, as probiotics helping your body detoxifies, please reduce the dosage and increase when your body becomes accustomed.”
The recommended dose is 2 vegetarian capsules daily.
So start out with 1 and see how you do and gradually increase to 2.
It even suggests 3 – 4 capsules daily for a greater effect.
Start low and see how it goes, first!

I’m very happy to see a return policy / guarantee, but I’m still sketched out that they no longer have an active website.
I feel better when I can see a company online and see their information opposed to just a random Amazon sales page.
