Overall Opinion:

I’m not always a fan of super potent probiotic supplements but Primal Harvest Primal Probiotics may be one of the exceptions.

I would only recommend this supplement to adults with a specific ailment such as a digestive disorder.

I think it would be too much for those just looking for a daily digestive boost or someone who is new to taking probiotics.

This probiotic contains a whopping 31 billion CFU with 12 shelf-stable probiotic strains and 3 prebiotic fibers.  Something I really appreciate is that they list out the majority of the specific probiotic strains used and also list out how much of each is used.

I like that you only have to take 1 capsule daily but make sure you take it with the recommended morning or afternoon meal.  This may also help prevent uncomfortable side effects.  Also, it’s formulated specifically for adults.

The capsules are vegetarian and don’t contain any gluten, eggs, dairy, or soy.

You also don’t have to refrigerate the bottle because they use shelf-stable probiotics.  Just store them in a cool, dry place and out of reach from children.

I surprisingly didn’t have any side effects with this probiotic, and I noticed an improvement with my IBS symptoms like less bloating, gas, and constipation.  I also started to get more regular with my bowel habits.  The benefits usually take effect between 1 and 3 months of taking them consistently on a daily basis.

This probiotic is definitely expensive compared to other probiotics, but I think the price is worth it and they give you a number of ways to save money and receive discount codes.  They also have an amazing 90-day money-back guarantee.

It’s important to point out that if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or have an existing condition, be sure to consult with your physician before taking this or any other dietary supplement.

But overall, I think it has good potential for helping people with more severe digestive issues and the guarantee is a nice cushion to try it and see how you like it without risking losing money.

The Details:

Ingredients/Strain Profile

Primal Harvest Primal Probiotics has 31 billion colony forming units (CFU) from 12 shelf-stable probiotic strains and 3 prebiotic fibers.

I love that they list out the majority of the specific strains used and the CFU amount for each.

A lot of probiotics will just list them out as a proprietary blend and not include how much of each you’re getting.

There are 8 billion CFU of Lactobacillus plantarum, which is touted for its many health benefits such as managing digestive issues like Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and Inflammatory bowel disease (such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis). It’s also known as a natural approach for supporting a healthy immune system and may even help prevent and treat high blood pressure, anxiety, eczema, high cholesterol, and diabetes.

Bifidobacterium lactis UABla-12™ (1 bil CFU) has been shown to help aid with overall digestive health and comfort and assist with normalizing bowel habits and promote regularity.  This strain may also benefit your immune function and minimize occasional constipation, bloating, and diarrhea.

The ingredients also include 3 prebiotic fibers (PreforPro®, Red Raspberry (Rubus idaeus) (Seed), and FOS (Fructo-Oligosaccharide), which I always love to see!

They’ve included PreforPro® as a “probiotic booster” that helps you achieve the maximum gut-supporting benefits.  This addition helps ensure that the friendly bacteria in the probiotic will thrive in your digestive tract.  This prebiotic is thought to help accelerate the growth of a wide range of probiotic species in the gut.

Allergy Concerns

There aren’t any major allergy concerns with this probiotic, which is a major plus!

The capsules are vegetarian and contain no dairy, eggs, soy, or gluten.

The only thing is this product is manufactured in a facility that also processes tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, and soy.

The other ingredients in this probiotic include: DR vegetable capsules® (Hypromellose, Gellan Gum), Magnesium Stearate, Silica, and Microcrystalline Cellulose.

Price/Value

I bought my bottle of Primal Probiotics from the Primal Harvest website.

It costs $38.95 for 30 capsules, which is a 1-month supply.

You also have to tack on $5.95 for shipping (2-4 business days, non-guaranteed).

Or if your order is $75 or more, then you get free shipping.

They also offer an optional Route Package Protection at check out for $0.98 that provides protection for shipments that are lost, broken, or stolen.

So just for the probiotics and shipping, it costs $44.90.  That works out to a daily cost of $1.50.

That’s definitely pricier than your average probiotics but I think the value justifies the price.

On their website, it says if you order today, that you also get a free immune-boosting recipe e-book ($14.95 value).

They have a slew of promotions and are definitely pulling out all the tricks when it comes to marketing and incentivizing purchases.

If you sign up for their VIP text message club, you will receive 13% off and get updates about their latest deals and new products.

You can get 10% off your first order if you sign up with your email address.

They have a “Refer a Friend” promotion that gives your friends a coupon for $11 off their first order and you get a $19 off coupon for each successful referral.

You also earn primal points for any purchases and various actions that can be used for added discounts.

The last option is their “Subscribe & Save” where you receive 20-25% off, plus free shipping on every recurring order and the price is guaranteed to never go up.  You can pause or cancel at any time online, or by phone or email and you still get their 90-day money-back-guarantee.

Side Effects

I surprisingly didn’t have any bad side effects while taking this probiotic.

I say surprisingly because it’s definitely a potent probiotic.

Normally I’m not the biggest fan of these types of supplements that are jammed packed with strains and CFUs.

But I did notice my IBS symptoms improved and I had more regularity and less bloating, gas, and constipation.

I wouldn’t recommend this probiotic for someone that’s new to probiotics though since it is so potent.

Guarantee

Primal Harvest offers an awesome 90-day money-back guarantee.

They want you to be 100% satisfied with your purchase, so if you’re not entirely happy, they will refund your money in full or exchange the product(s).

I absolutely LOVE when companies offer a satisfaction guarantee, especially when the product is on the pricier end and also having 90 days is such a plus.

It looks like they offer this same guarantee if you buy the product from their Amazon store, as well.
