Overall Opinion:

I think Wholesome Wellness Raw Probiotic 100 Billion CFU had good potential but really fell through with the execution.

They went overboard with every aspect of this probiotic and it made the final product flop.

They tout a high potency probiotic with 100 billion CFU and a whopping 34 strains.  More is not better with probiotics and with that many CFU and strains, you’re bound to run into issues.

Over the years, I’ve found that the best probiotics stick to around 6-7 billion CFU with 6 to 7 well-researched, high-quality probiotic strains.

These prove to be the most effective products.

With so many CFU and strains, they end up competing with each other and can cause side effects or leave the beneficial bacteria ineffective.

On top of the 100 billion CFU and 34 strains, they also have a prebiotic fiber blend, digestive enzyme blend, and a raw whole fruit and veggie blend.

The capsules are bigger than I like but still measure to be about average size for a typical capsule.

But you only take 1 capsule per day, so I’m confused about how they fit SO many ingredients in a single capsule.  I’d expect the capsules to be much bigger or you’d have to take multiple to get an accurate dose.  So I feel like they only include trace amounts of these ingredients.

They say the product is shelf-stable (no refrigeration required), potency guaranteed, acid and bile resistant, and the bottles seal out moisture, oxygen, and light.

However, I really feel like these probiotics don’t contain any living or viable bacteria or nutrients.

I never felt ANY changes, relief, or benefits while taking this probiotic.  I didn’t even feel any side effects, which I was expecting from such a potent probiotic.  This product was 100% ineffective for me and zero help with my painful IBS symptoms or digestive function.

Another big problem I have is the bottle has a sticker on the lid that says, “GET YOUR NEXT BOTTLE FREE” and to visit wholesome-wellness.com/free.

These promos raise a few flags for me regardless but this one took the take.

I went to the site and it said, “Sorry for the inconvenience but this promotion has recently expired and will no longer be available.”

What a way to disappoint your customers, even after they’ve spent money on your products in the first place.

I poked around online and found a lot of other people who had similar experiences.

They had zero results from the product and many thought they were filled with sawdust, flour, filler, etc.

This product has a TON of high-rated reviews online.  Come to find out they were doing a promotion that if you rated the product 5 stars, they’d send you a free bottle.

That’s a gross marketing ploy and not a company that I trust or want to buy from.

Overall, this product and company missed the mark in SO many ways and left me wildly disappointed.

The Details:

Ingredients/Strain Profile

There is A LOT going on in the ingredients and strain profile.

As the name suggests, Wholesome Wellness Raw Probiotic 100 Billion CFU has 100 billion CFU and 34 different probiotic strains.

This is mega potent and I’m not a fan of these types of supplements.

It’s just simply too much and often times not beneficial.

They use so many different probiotic strains and a lot of them I’ve never even heard of.  This is crazy because I’ve tested and reviewed hundreds of probiotic strains and supplements for over 5 years.

It’s best if a probiotic contains 6-7 solid, well researched, quality strains that are naturally found in the body and can provide some real results.

They do include Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum, which are highly researched and rated strains.

Studies show that L. acidophilus may improve symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), prevent and reduce diarrhea, lower cholesterol, and treat and prevent vaginal infections.

B. bifidum helps improve intestinal flora, digestion, vaginal health, and immune function. It may help also help reduce acute diarrhea and stave off harmful bacteria like E. coli.

This probiotic includes an organic blend of 3 prebiotic fibers.  These fibers are helpful and act as a natural food source for probiotics and help keep them alive.  However, like with everything else in this product, it may go overboard with so many different prebiotics.

One of the only things I like about this product is that it includes a digestive enzyme complex.  Digestive enzymes are very helpful in conjunction with probiotics to help improve overall digestive function and boost nutrient absorption (especially if you have food sensitivities or a digestive disorder).

This particular supplement includes a Raw Whole Fruit & Veggie Blend, which isn’t commonly found in probiotics.  I think it’s a nice addition of natural ingredients in theory but at this point, I don’t think the capsules can really contain this many ingredients.  If they did, they’d be massive or you’d have to take several.  So there must only be trace sources of these ingredients.

Allergy Concerns

These capsules contain organic rice (hull), which some people are sensitive to.

But other than that, it’s free of all the major allergens.

The capsules contain NO: Binders, Soy, Gluten, Milk, Egg, Wheat, Peanuts, Shellfish, Hormones, Additives, or Preservatives.

It’s also 100% vegan.

The other ingredients include:  Vegetable capsule, organic rice (hull).

Price/Value

I bought this supplement on the Wholesome Wellness website for $23.75.

It’s listed for $33.99 but shows the sale price of $23.75.  This may be a marketing tactic and it’s actually always the sale price, but regardless I just wanted to point that out in case the price was different for you.

The bottle contains a 1-month supply of 30 capsules.

So, it works out to 79 cents per day to take these.

That’s slightly above average for a probiotic supplement but nothing crazy.

I also got free shipping for my probiotic, which is nice.  They have a banner at the top of the website that says, “Free Shipping through midnight. Code FREESHIP at checkout”.

However, the banner has been there every time I’ve visited the site, so I’m not sure if that’s another marketing tactic that just doesn’t go away.

Side Effects

Much to my surprise, I had absolutely no side effects with this product.

Normally this is great, but it made me super skeptical and cautious.

This product states it has an incredibly high amount of CFU and strains, making this a very potent probiotic.

If it really was this strong, I’d expect to see some sort of side effects for a week or so as my body adjusted or got accustomed to it.

I really felt nothing from this probiotic.

I didn’t have any side effects or adverse reactions, but I also didn’t experience any positive results or benefits either!

Guarantee

Wholesome Wellness states they offer a guarantee to their customers.

They have an online contact form you can fill out or email them at [email protected].

It says, “If you’re not happy with your product for ANY reason, simply contact our customer service department and one of our representatives will talk you through how to ship your product back to us. Once we have received your product, we will issue you your money back. It’s that simple.”

Emphasis on simple but maybe a little too simple?

The above statement is literally the only information they have about their guarantee.

It doesn’t say anything about how long you have to return the products (30, 60, 90 days, etc.) or if you have to pay for the return shipping.

I’d contact them first if you have specific questions since they don’t share a ton of information on their website.
